- The Directors reviewed and approved the Annual Education Results Report that was presented by Superintendent Dr. David Peat.
The Directors and Administration want to express their thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out the Survey that was circulated online prior to the Christmas break. - January 27/28 the Board of Directors will be meeting for a Governance workshop with Dianne McBeth who the board has hired to assist with updating the VSF bylaws as well as reviewing the Board Governance Policies which will be separated from the Administrative Policies/Procedures.
Watch for updates to the Bylaws which will be presented at the upcoming VSF AGM for approval by the members.
- The Board of Directors continues to look for effective ways to share information and improve on our communication with our stakeholders. If you have suggestions or would like to contact the board, feel welcome to email at t.corbett@valhallaschool.ca
- Grade 9 Student Award Bursary!!
VSF has a student award fund through The Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta. The fund will allow us to award a bursary to a Grade 9 student which will be paid to the student upon completion of Grade 12 for post secondary education. The account is not yet fully funded for awarding directly from, but the Directors are hoping to utilize an avenue that will allow us to possibly start awarding this year. Information will be forthcoming regarding the amount and specific information regarding the selection criteria.
If you would like to donate to the fund and help us grow this legacy, the link is below. Your donations are tax deductible through the Community Foundation.
